Handwoven textiles made in Corvallis, Oregon

I started Spindle and Loom Studio because of my desire to make handwoven items that are parts of everyday life.

Daily use items should last for years, not seasons, and using natural resources to create my products allows me to create sustainable art that has a purpose.

For that reason, I primarily focus on kitchen textiles that bring beauty and purpose to people’s homes, and one-of-a-kind bags that are designed to fit into life outside the home.

I take custom orders in addition to what is currently in the shop, so please reach out if you want to brainstorm about your own personal product to elevate your home and lifestyle.

From the earth,

to your home.

Textiles handwoven with natural materials

My goal is to source my materials locally, which means I make choices that are based on sustainability. I love to support family farms to provide the wool I use, and local businesses for other supplies. I believe in avoiding synthetic materials and focus on creating stunning pieces that are meant to be used—not just saved for special occasions.

Small farm wool and alpaca

The bags and scarves I make are all woven from small farm fleeces. Each bag is individually designed and handwoven. Your bag is truly one of a kind!

Natural dyes

For the bags and many of the scarves, I rely on natural dues—many of which are from my own garden. Additionally, I forage for oak galls, mushrooms, walnut husks and other materials to find unique color combinations.

Plant (and other) fibers

I use cotton, silk, and bamboo for my finer textiles. I’ve researched production of other materials and have committed to staying true to using only natural fibers.
